Rust diseases cause severe yield losses in wheat by reducing photosynthesis, weakening plants, and damaging grain quality. Our lab has been active in the identification and characterization of resistance genes against stripe rust (Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici; PST), stem rust (Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici; Pgt) and leaf rust (Puccinia triticina; Pt).
